The Beaver Scout Promise

I promise
To do my best
To be kind and helpful
and to love God.

Every boy who wishes to join the Beaver Colony has four weeks to come to the meetings to decide if he wants to join. After four weeks he has the choice to become a full member. This involves taking the Beaver Scout Promise and receiving the first four badges for his uniform. This happens at the start of the meeting after the Opening Ceremony. The Beaver Leader stands with the new Beaver and asks him to say the promise whilst the other members make the scout sign.

The Beaver Scout Promise summarises the essential values of the Scouting Association, in an easy language that young children can understand.

The Beaver Scout Motto

Fun and Friends

As with all sections of scouting, the Beavers have a motto. This is an extra reminder to the Beavers of what Beaver Scouting is all about, and is far easier to remember than the Beaver Promise.
